Privacy Policy

AUXX ("we", "us", or "the app") is built to be local-first: your audio, practice history, and account profile stay on your device by default. This policy explains what little data we do handle and how.

1. What we collect

We do not sell or rent your personal data. The app is designed so that almost everything happens on-device:

  • Audio files you import are processed locally on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
  • Stem separation runs on-device using an on-device ONNX model.
  • Account profile (optional display name and email you enter) is stored only in your device's app-private storage and is never transmitted to us.
  • Practice stats (e.g. minutes practiced today) are stored locally on the device.
  • Credits balance and daily ad-watching counter are stored locally on the device.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

AUXX shows rewarded video ads from Google AdMob so you can earn free stem credits. To serve these ads, Google may collect device identifiers and usage information, including:

  • A resettable advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
  • Device model, OS version, and coarse location (country-level) inferred from IP address
  • IP address and general usage data

Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. On iOS, you can limit ad tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, reset your Advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads.

We use these identifiers only to deliver and report on rewarded ads; we do not combine them with any other personal data.

3. Permissions the app requests

  • Microphone (iOS/Android): used to record your own instrument parts as custom stems and to power the built-in tuner. Audio is processed on-device and is never uploaded.
  • Music / media library (iOS): used to import tracks you choose so you can loop and practice them. We only read files you explicitly select.
  • Background audio (iOS): allows playback to continue while the screen is locked so you can practice with the loop running.
  • Internet: required to load rewarded ads and to fetch album artwork.

4. Third-party services

No other analytics, crash-reporting, or account-sync backends are connected in this version of the app.

5. Children's privacy

AUXX is a practice tool for musicians and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Data retention

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete remotely. To erase all local data at once, uninstall the app.

7. Your choices

  • Disable personalized ads via your device's tracking/ad settings.
  • Revoke microphone access at any time in your device's privacy settings.
  • Uninstall the app to remove all on-device data.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
